CLASSROOMS
At School Signals, classrooms are more than a one-way announcement board—they’re dynamic communities for 360 parent-teacher engagement.
Keep parents updated on classroom news and happenings. Parents are automatically configured to applicable classrooms based on student data. No complicated QR codes or number codes needed! Parents have contextual access to the classroom updates and a hub to connect with their child’s teachers—and other parents.
Parent volunteering gives students an academic boost! Teachers create volunteer opportunities inside their Classroom. Need volunteers for a classroom event? No problem! Integrate volunteering with the classroom event!
Create parents one hub for all their needs: class news and updates, classroom events and calendar, classroom-specific online forms, classroom volunteer sign-up, photo sharing, and messaging with teachers and other parents. The idea is simple: Everything classroom-related is in one place – inside the classroom, accessible by desktop and mobile.
The classroom feed keeps parents connected and on the same page. Teachers save time by not having to answer the same questions individually. The feed respects parents’ notification preferences (text, email, app push) while ensuring a timely delivery (immediate or daily). And, when there is a need, private messaging is easy to start from the classroom directory of teacher(s) and parents.
Classrooms offer a dedicated space for teachers to communicate with parents and school staff. They centralize updates, resources, and discussions, ensuring consistent communication throughout the school year.
Classrooms are typically created for one teacher, but administrators can assign multiple teachers to a Classroom. Any teacher with access can add posts and content, regardless of admin status. Administrators maintain full access to all Classrooms. Parents can make posts and leave comments/questions depending on chosen settings. An individual parent can also be granted classroom admin rights to support the teacher; for instance, a parent admin could add events and volunteer opportunities to the classroom.

Classrooms are automatically linked to students based on grade level and classroom teacher data. Parents are automatically added when their student is added to the Classroom. Subject-level teachers can select students from the applicable grade when multiple teachers exist for the same subject. Students themselves do not access School Signals.
Teachers can share regular updates without sending individual messages. Classroom posts appear in both the Classroom and School Feed. Parents receive notifications according to their preferences. Classroom Pages serve as a stable reference for information that rarely changes.
Teachers can address questions in a single public post rather than repeating answers privately. Parent posts can be restricted or require approval before publishing. Commenting can be disabled when discussion is unnecessary. Administrators have full visibility into all Classroom activity. Teachers have access to parent contact information and they can send two-way private messages to parents. Classroom teachers enjoy reduced administrative tasks. They do not need to invite parents to join; if student data is available, parents are automatically added to the classroom for communication.
Yes, Classrooms support homerooms, grade levels, subject classes, and special programs. Subject-level teachers can create Classrooms for specific students within a grade. Multiple teachers can collaborate in the same Classroom as needed.
