What is the difference between a calendar entry and an event?

Summary

A calendar entry is a brief and important note, whereas an event is a detailed invitation to a particular school occasion. Both calendar entries and events are listed in the School Calendar. Events are additionally listed on the Events page.

Details

A calendar entry is a brief listing to note a date in the School Calendar. Make a Calendar Entry for school closure times and notes about special days. Example calendar entries could be:

  • Spring Break
  • St. Patrick’s Day – Wear a green t-shirt
  • Final exams week

You can add more details if you make the occasion an event. If the occasion has a specific start and end time and you want to promote the happening with more information and photos or request an RSVP, create an Event instead. Example events could be:

  • Halloween party
  • Classroom Valentine’s party
  • School Beautification Day
